M77 is a nice small galaxy in the constellation Cetus. It has a wide area of gaseous rings around it, most of which could be pulled out in this image, due to 20h of exposure. M77 is also listed in the Arp Catalogue, as Arp37.

M39 is an open cluster in the constellation Cygnus. It consists of young bright blue stars and thanks to their characteristic positioning it is also referred to as the Pyramid cluster. Open clusters like this appear to be great targets to shoot during full moon periods.

M56 is a globular cluster in the constellation Lyra. Clusters are always a bit challenging when it comes to resolving the stars in the center. Careful stretching of both the Luminance and RGB images was key in creating the required resolution.

M10 is a globular cluster in the constellation Ophiuchus. During processing special attention was directed towards fully resolving the stars, also in the center, while maintaining accurate colours.

M76 is also known as the Little Dumbbell nebula, a small but bright Planetary Nebula in the constellation Perseus. Here imaged using HOO narrowband imaging.

M16 is also known as the Eagle Nebula, but the central part of this nebula is made even more popular by the Hubble Telescope, and is nick-named the pillars of creation. Here in a narrowband version with a total of almost 40h of exposure.

M27 is a very bright planetary nebula, of which often only the core is shown. In this case, the outer and much fainter areas are made visible as well in this HOO image, using a new HDR script.

M4 is a globular cluster in the constellation Scorpius. It is located at a distance of 50,000 light years from Earth. During processing some interesting green stars stood out which appear to be RR Lyrae variable stars, often found in clusters. The intense green colour is an artefact of the way broadband images like these are taken.

M102 is a small galaxy n the constellation Draco. It is an edge on galaxy with the characteristic dust lane through the middle. It is located at a distance of 50,000 light years from Earth.

M61 is a beautiful ‘heads on’ spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo, as part of the Virgo cluster. This particular image is shot in LRGB, but a comparison is made between LRGB and RGB processing as well.

M64 is also known as the Black Eye Galaxy, because of its characteristic detailed center in an otherwise a smooth and amorphous looking galaxy. Other nicknames are ‘evil eye’ and ‘sleeping beauty’ galaxy. This was an old set of data that had still not be processed.

M96 is a beautiful galaxy in the Messier catalogue. Here an RGB image recorded during ‘Galaxy Season’.

As a globular cluster from the Messier catalogue, M9 is a bit of a tricky target to image at the Northern Hemisphere. From my location it never rises above 34° altitude. Some short bursts of shots were collected over several nights to create this image.

Globular Clusters are dense concentrations of stars within our own Milky Way galaxy. Messier 5 is a beautiful example of how dense such a cluster can be. Here an image photographed using only RGB broadband filters.

For the first light image with the new rig from the Remote Observatory, M95 was chosen as the subject. One of the smaller galaxies that should benefit from the large focal length, dark skies and good seeing. Still some aspects to work out, but so far off to a good start.

M82 is often photographed together with its close neighbour M81. But the cigar galaxy as it is also called, is a beautiful example of a starburst galaxy and deserves the attention on its own.

A four year old dataset of Messier 106 that was never published yet. Now processed using all the new AI-based tools available to astrophotographers today. In a much shorter time a much better result

M97, or the Owl Nebula, is a small planetary nebula in the constellation Ursa Major. Using Halpha and OIII narrowband filters enabled imaging while the moon was out at almost 100%.

M45 is a well-known object in the night sky. The large bright blue stars and the surrounding illuminated clouds make for an attractive target. While traveling this was a perfect object to photograph with the recently assembled 60mm travel rig.

A new travel rig was put together and first light was used to image M16, the Eagle nebula. This is a low summer target and only half an hour of data could be gathered. But the travel setup worked well and holds a lot of promise for the future.
