Messier
The Messier catalogue is a well-known list of 110 astronomical objects, mostly galaxies and clusters, visible from the Northern hemisphere. Published by French astronomer Charles Messier in 1781, it was originally a guide for not confusing comets with other objects. Today, it is popular among amateur astronomers for observation and photography.
