Abell
The Abell Catalog of Planetary Nebulae is a list of 86 objects, created by American astronomer Dr. George O. Abell. The objects are discovered in 1955 on photographic plates of the 1.2 m Samuel Oschin telescope at Mount Palomar. All objects can be observed from the Northern Hemisphere. Most are very small, with typical sizes only around a few arcmins, and minimum values down to 0.3 arcmin. Most objects are best photographed with a long focal length telescope and an OIII narrowband filter.
