During a Messier Marathon, all 110 objects from the Messier catalogue need to be observed and/or photographed within one night. Read in this blog about my attempt to do this as an astrophotographer. On 19 January 2026 the Northern Lights could be observed from Groningen, The Netherlands. It is not often that we see this phenomenon at this latitude, so a perfect opportunity to make some shots and a video with some time lapses.
